Nancy Aranson

MSW, LCSW, Psychotherapist

Welcome to my home page. I’m glad you’re here.  If you’ve made it this far, chances are that you may not be feeling so great right now.  Sometimes life and its transitions can be too much and leave us feeling anxious, depressed or overwhelmed.  I’m here to help and let you know there is hope.  Therapy is more than just telling someone your problems.  It is a way to process what is happening in your life and how you are feeling, and also learn new ways to cope and grow.   One of the most important aspects of therapy is the relationship that you have with your therapist.  I am here to listen and support you, by bringing my 12 years of experience and knowledge to your unique situation.  If you’re interested in finding out more about how I work, please call me for a free 20-minute consultation to see if I would be a good fit for your needs.

About Me

I do this work because I am passionate about helping others through difficult times.  I left my job as a corporate attorney to go back to school and become a therapist, and I could not be more satisfied with my decision.  I have a Bachelor’s degree in English, as well as my law degree, from University of Miami, and graduated from University of Georgia with a Master’s in Social Work.   I have worked in some extremely challenging environments, including an inpatient behavioral health hospital and an outpatient substance abuse clinic, where I dealt with individuals and families of all ages and backgrounds. I use a variety of approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, solution focused therapy, and many others, depending on which evidence-based intervention the situation calls for.  I would be happy to answer any questions you have in a 20-minute free consultation.

Contact Me

I am available by appointment Monday through Friday, with more limited hours on weekends and evenings.  Contact me now to schedule your 20-minute free consultation.  I would love to work with you.
